A Polka Dot Pool Party

Lots of polka dots, a pool full of ducks and beach balls and family means a dinner party full of fun! The poolside table was decorated with bright, colorful paper lanterns in hot pink, orange, lime green and purple. Fabric pendents added more dots to the decor.

The place settings had colorful round place mats  paper straws, polka dotted napkins and favor bags that doubled as place cards. The favor bags had candy dots, bouncy balls, spotted notebooks, temporary tattoos and cool spotted bug pens.

The young party guests loved fishing the ducks and balls out of the pool!

Thanksgiving Tablescape

Happy belated Thanksgiving! Here are some shots of our Thanksgiving table decor. Homespun theme with burlap, ric rack and felt - inspiration came from felt leaf place mats and candle holders spotted at on a recent antique shopping trip.

Back to School Beach Bash!

I threw a Back to School Bash for a friend's play group this week to celebrate the start of Kindergarten! We had wonderful sunny weather which was perfect for the beach setting. Celebration included dessert table, craft and games.

Afterschool snacks included rainbow fruit skewers, dirt cups with book worms, fun pretzel cones, cupcakes and alphabet frosted oatmeal cookies. For drinks, we had juice boxes and milk.

Each placesetting had a white board name strip, school cutout with napkin and silverware and a bag of school inspired favors. The brown lunch bags had supplies for the craft.

One of the party activities was book bag decorating. Each bag had a freezer paper stencil school design which the guests decorated with sponge brushes and paint. They came out great!

St. Patricks Day Party

My "Little Sister" and I hosted a St. Patrick's Day dinner complete with some traditional Irish dishes and lots of GREEN!

Pretty in Pink place setting that would work well for a Bridal or Baby shower. The placecard is a paper flower that can also be worn as a corsage.

Oscar's Place setting

We had a wonderful gathering of friends to watch the Oscar's on Sunday night! Our guests donned their PJs for great food, good company and a chance to critique the fancier dressed guests on our television. Our menu items were inspired by the countries in which nominated films were set. Each item was served in minature so that everyone could try lots of different items.

Although we served dinner as a buffet, I played around with place settings which would work with the party theme!
